Hekkie van der Westhuizen   - Regional Character & MENtor

I am a God-fearing husband to Marilé and proud father of Henri (17) and Chris (15). I am a director at SALDaTI, where we focus on Leadership Development and Training. I love reading, spending time in the bush, family time, exercising and I am also a keen motorcyclist.

I am a member of the Word Riders, which is the motorcycling ‘leg’ of the Bible Society of South Africa where we have the privilege to spread the Word of God on motorcycles, also to less privileged rural children during an annual tour that we do to different parts of our beautiful country.

I love children, our country and its people, and I try to make a lasting positive impact on the people around me, which includes the boys that I am privileged to MENtor.

Kyle Tolman - MENtor

Kyle is an ordained Pastor(B.TH) and has been a missionary for the past 5 years. He is the Executive Director of Cross Connect Community Outreach. CCCO facilitated transformational change for children by creating an alternative to more than 3000 children through exciting Christian programs.

Kyle is married to Nicole and his passion is to see children and youth transformed. Kyle also advocates for children through various gateways like education, media, politics and sport.

Ruan Prinsloo - MENtor

I  have been blessed with the most amazing God fearing wife and we have been married for almost 5 years. We have 1 child who is a 3 year old boy, Luke. Our house follows Jesus Christ and we love the word of God.

I have been running men's life groups for the past 4 years and have also been disciplining men who are new in their journey as Christ followers. God has burdened my heart with this since I got saved.

After having Luke I realized how important and needed a father is in a boys life and the impact it would have in the long run. I feel honored to be called by God to mentor and to add value to boys with absent fathers.

Moses Moleofe - MENtor

I have a diploma in nursing and have been working as a psychiatric nurse all my life.I am a father of two daughters and a son. I am a God-fearing, family orientated man who is passionate about community upliftment and moral regeneration.

My hobbies include watching and coaching soccer. I run a soccer team of under 8 years.I have worked in the UK for 5 and half years and consider myself a global citizen after being exposed to many cultures.

Solly Moagi - MENtor

Solly Moagi was born at small town called Tzaneen in Limpopo and he is a father of two. He resides  in Zandspruit and have been an activist for the last 5 years in the community volunteering in an organization  called (ZCM) Zandspruit Community movements which champions  interests of the community both on the political landscape and outside of politics.

It is under the organization that he and his team have managed to deliver an electricity for an area/section around Zandspruit which people waited for 25 years. He is always willing to learn and adapt in different environments and

always willing to serve because God has mandated us to love one another.

The best of people are those that bring most benefit to the rest of mankind.” (Daraqutni, Hasan)

Bongani Khumalo - MENtor

I am a married man blessed with a supportive wife and 4 children. I grew up in Ladysmith in KZN where I began my schooling until I matriculated in 1994. Soon after completing my matric I began my retail career where I spent 19 years  as a branch manager. Some of the companies I was blessed to work for include Edcon, JDGroup, Ok Furnitures just to mention a few.

Big part of my life and my upbringing in the farm has always been to serve God, this course was fulfilled when I was ordained as a Priest in 2010. I serve in multiple portfolios at church and this include being the founder of  Brother Indaba Committee where we groom young men to be responsible citizens as they grow.

Joining the Character Company has given me more meaning in ensuring that we develop responsible young men through MENtorship.

Morne Basson - MENtor

Morne Basson is a passionate individual with a love for people. He is a qualified personal trainer and has travelled the world whilst working onboard luxury cruise liners. Morne had his ups and downs and life, but through all the challenges he still lives a life with NO REGRETS. Through sometimes crazy campaigns, Morne focus on creating awareness and supporting charitable causes.

Health and wellness are a massive part of his life and his goal is to motivate people to live a healthy and balanced lifestyle. His message is always the same: “Your body is your temple”. Morne is the founder of the #Bthat1 campaign in support of The Character Company - fighting for the hearts of young boys in South Africa growing up without a father or positive male role model.
